A warm welcome to you all!
This site is aimed principally at MFL teachers in the Highlands of Scotland, though clearly it is hoped the materials and links contained herein will be of use to any interested party. Our objective is to provide access to materials and resources for teachers of a variety of subjects, though primarily Modern Languages (with a particular emphasis on French).
Please feel free to access the web pages with links below and on the left. The links below will take you to a series of simple Word-based materials for teaching French (and eventually other languages, hopefully). It is hoped to be able to increase the size (and standard) of the materials bank as we receive contributions. The links on the left are of a more general educational nature, or are aimed at other disciplines.
If the page you wish to see appears within this frame, please just run your cursor over the dividing line between this frame and the one on the left until it becomes a "double headed" arrow, then simply drag the dividing line to the left. Repeat the process, dragging to the right, to see the links again.
Using a computer, digital projector and Smart board can be a little overwhelming at first, so we thought we would reproduce simple Word-based resources we have created since we were first introduced to the heady world of computer-based teaching! I’m afraid you will find little that is clever or special here, but it is hoped the materials on offer will provide a reasonable “point de départ”.
A CD-rom containing book-based materials has already been produced and distributed to language teachers in the Highlands, but the simple documents contained herein are more general in nature, and may be used as background to book-based exercises, though there are several pages which contain vocabulary from particular texts and Listening Comprehensions, especially in the Higher section.
We have included links to other sites with more sophisticated materials, and links to resources which should help with ERV (Extended Reading and Viewing), and which would be useful for NAB and Folio work.
If you have a resource you are willing to share, or if you want to share internet sites you find useful, or even if you simply have suggestions about what works or doesn’t work in the classroom, please don’t hesitate to get in touch – we will happily add your materials or a link to a proposed site.
You can contact the webmaster at stuartfernie@yahoo.co.uk , or mlsupport@hotmail.co.uk .
We hope to provide a choice of useful materials, as well as share ideas, thoughts and problems – real teachers helping one another to resolve real problems. If you have a message, please send it to the webmaster and he will add it to the Discussion Forum.
