Stuart Fernie is a 60 year-old retired teacher of French who lives in the Highlands of Scotland with his wife and three children.
Born and brought up in the central belt of Scotland, he was educated at Edinburgh University and went on to complete teacher training at Moray House, also in Edinburgh.
He started teaching French in 1981, having spent a year as English Assistant at a Lycée in Le Havre, France, and after spending some time teaching English as a foreign language in Edinburgh. In 1989 –1990 he spent the academic year teaching English in a Collège in Rennes, Brittany.
His main interest is the cinema, but he also enjoys theatre, reading and the internet.
